Side Blotched Lizard

A side-blotched lizard

Salt Creek is a small creek, very aptly named, that flows through a small area of the valley. In it live small fish called pupfish that are about the size of tadpoles (and at first glance, kinda look like 'em!). Along this creek is a boardwalk that allows you to basically walk along the creek without disturbing the environment. Well, pupfish aren't the only attraction here! Plenty of ugly bugs, a couple birds maybe, and lots of these cute little lizards!
This little devil was a very nice model. He stood right on the edge of the boardwalk and posed while a small crowd (about 4 or 5 people) gathered around him. I was able to get within 5 feet of him (her? it?) to take this picture. Good luck getting any closer to them. They really know how to run.

Thank you to Jason Peraza for correcting the identity of this lizard specie, which I had previous labelled incorrectly as a Zebra Tail Lizard (also found in Death Valley).
